Finally the FIFA 06 Demo has been published on the web. It is available in two versions, one in English (plus multiple languages) and the other in French. It contains the following teams:

Be sure to check the readme files so that you have all the hardware required for playing the demo.

Some more details of FIFA 06 have been passed our way. This time we have been told that the penalty kick system has been vastly expanded.
You can now move your GK along the line before the kick is taken. The GK will move his arms and jump as he moves (think Dudek in the UCL final).
Taking a penalty kick now offers more as well. You can choose between 3 different types of shots. You can pass the ball in with the inside of your foot, you can drive the ball in with a firm strike, or you can choose to delicately chip the ball in.
PK saves are now more realistic as well, with not every save going directly out, meaning follow up rebound goals are also possible.
As soon as we hear more about the game we'll be posting it right here. Stay tuned.
FIFA 4 Fans.com has released a very great download - it is a roster for the new session with a lot of new graphics... half roster, half patch!
The roster is by Kahn-Titan again. He has edited his roster until he finished Kahn-Titan Roster 2005-2006 v2.0! Most of the changes are for the differences of the transfers and the league changes for the new session. Here is a list of all differences to version 1.5:
1st AND 2nd BUNDESLIGA - more than 1.500 transfers done, a lot of new players added - the players have been edited for strenght, position, l/r foot, sometimes look - the promotions and regulations in the two leagues have been edited NATIONAL TEAMS: - Holland added INTERNATIONAL TEAMS - balls and stadiums assigned - team prestige changed - promotions in Spain, England, France and Germany (1st and 2nd league) added - 7 new teams addedd in Rest of World : AEK Athen, Besiktas Istanbul, Dynamo Kiew, Fenerbahce Istanbul, Lokomotive Moskau, Schachtjor Donezk, ZSKA Moskau - The highest league of England, Italy and Spain have been edited. Not all transfers have been done. After transfer ending there will be an update of this roster. All formations of these countires have been changed.
Furthermore there are a lot of specials added to this roster: - new specific adboards for all 38 German teams - new (Ultra-) flags and banners for all 38 German teams 14 new different balls. These have been assigned to the teams like they really use them in the leagues (e.g. Derbystar, Nike, Adidas, Uhlsport, etc..) - all together 80 new player faces for players of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga - Third Kits have been unlocked for all German teams, so you can add new kits with Creation Center and they appear now in FIFA. - New trim an colour of the corner flags

FIFA 4 Fans.com has posted news about the FIFA 06 Soundtrack. EA Sports has announced the 39 songs and interprets of the soundtrack of FIFA 06. Besides some international known artists from Spain, Germany, Brazil, Jamaica, France and England there are also some exotes in the list. All the songs will be played during in the menues of FIFA 06. Probably there will be no separate selling as a music CD.

Hi all Fifa fans... Today Fifa Polonia has got for You three new files. There are 3 kits packs for: Manchester United, PSG, and Portsmouth. Author is the best kitsmaker on the world Pede54.
EA have given us some info on some of the new teams in FIFA 06.
FIFA 06 will have all of the same leagues as FIFA 2005, along with some additions. The Polish Ekstraklasa has been added, along with Fenerbahce, Shakhtar Donetsk and two South African teams... Orlando Priates and Kaizer Chiefs. There is also a new World League which has two teams in it, the Classic XI (as announced in a previous news post) and a World XI, which contains the top players from today's game. EA stressed that this team can be completely changed, meaning you can make your own World XI if you do not agree with EA's selections.
In other FIFA 06 news, there have been some fake screenshots circulating that were meant to prove that the Turkish League was in FIFA 06. EA have confirmed that these screenshots are fakes. The only additional complete league that is being added is the Polish Ekstraklasa.
EA have confirmed for us that variable crowd capacities will be visible in FIFA 06.
This feature apparently works in Manager Mode (formerly Career Mode) with the crowd size depending on how well your team is performing, or how important your opponent is. For example, even if you are a lower division team and losing all your games, if Man Utd came to town for a cup tie, you would have a full house.
On top of this, the ticket prices you set for your home games can also affect the size of the crowd.
It also works in Play Now mode which they have renamed to Kick-Off. So if you play a game like Chelsea vs Barnsley at Stamford Bridge, you won't get a full house.

Soccer Access have released their excellent Football Center which allows you to follow the progress of Top Football Leagues around the world. There is a core application (Football Center itself) and then you add "Leagues Packs".
Each one of these packs includes fixtures, data about teams ,stadiums, clubs history, everything you need to know about your favourite league. You can download the Leagues Packs you prefer and you will be able to follow the progress of those leagues (standings, home-away performance, even matches forecasts). You will be able to easily update leagues data through FC Update utility.
Football Center has been programmed taking advantage of the interaction between Flash and scripting languages resulting in a more friendly interface. One of the coolest features of Football Center are the "Balltoons". These are funny cartoons that will inform you about matches results, forecasts and standings. "BallToons" will represent all different teams involved in a league and they will change their behaviour according to the results.

Brazilian games site UOL, have posted over 100 screenshots from an alpha version of FIFA 06. In doing so they have revealed the Classic XI that will be included in this year's game.
Eric Cantona is back in FIFA for the first time in many years, while greats such as Rudi Voller, Zico and Beckenbauer to name just a few are also included.

A brand-new version of the official FIFA 2005 editor has been released today: Creation Center 2005 v1.3.0.27. German FIFA Online offers all the information, screenshots, and dozens of mirror server for downloading. According to GFO, the new version allows you to move teams to other leagues.
The Official FIFA 06 website has released recently. On the site you can find official screenshots for the consoles(PC screenshots will be available soon) and info on the new and improved gameplay, new freekick system and more. You will also be able to pre-order FIFA 06 on the official website. Watch out for more EA FIFA 06 updates on the site.

I have just come out of the first FIFA 06 chat sessions with some interesting news from the developers. A lot of questions were asked regarding the gameplay. Off the Ball has been removed, 12 new stadiums added, goalkeepers can commit fouls in the box and a bizarre unlockable for the PS2 version - you'll be able to play FIFA 94!

The German edition of EA's upcoming top-title FIFA 06 is going to get a special cover for the German market showing the two main "covergirls" Ronaldinho and Rooney PLUS German 20-year-old wonderkind Lukas Podolski on the cover. It is rumored that more countries will receive an individual cover this year.
Turf Patch v5 - Dark Green Turf [Champions League]
Today FIFA 4 Fans.com has released the dark version of the turf again, but this time the Turf Patch v5 includes a small easter egg: In the center circle is a Champions League Logo! Now you can absolutely play with the Champions League-atmosphere! There are included the 7 different structures again:
thin stripes
thick stripes
rhombuses
no structure
checked pattern
fasciated
very thin stripes
Furthermore there is included a Champions League Ball and original Champions League adboards!
It of course includes several explanations on the up-coming features and is packed full of information.
"FIFA 06 delivers an experience that feels like football and plays like football. The gameplay has seen significant improvements across the board. All-new tackling, dribbling and shielding with the ball give you complete control on the pitch, while tactical button configurations mean you can execute strategic decisions on-the-fly during play.
The free kick system is one such area that has been revamped for FIFA 06. Stop the power bar in the blue area when shooting for the most accuracy. Push forward on the right analog stick to increase the trajectory of the shot. Pull back on the analog stick to decrease the trajectory. Lofted shots with a higher trajectory have a slower velocity and are easier to stop. A lower trajectory will have increased speed and be harder for the goalkeeper to stop but will be less likely to clear the defensive wall.
When you’re playing full-commitment football, injuries can happen and FIFA 06 reflects that part of the modern game also with a variety of injuries and the subsequent yellow, or even red, card."
These show goals from Rooney, Ronaldinho and Zanetti. They all show proper gameplay, celebrations, and also commentary from Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray, so we guess EA have gone for the UEFA CL commentary team and scrapped John Motson and Ally McCoist, which is no bad thing!
